Build a brief for the trip you are actually planning: city visits, railway connections, a coastal day or hiking from a base. Record transport, walking, overnight arrangements, luggage and the questions still open. Save the plan on this device or export a copy; it does not make reservations or confirm access.

The brief works without a saved road-trip comparison. If you have saved a selection in Compare trip formats, it appears separately as context; it does not become a city/rail recommendation.

Start with the decisions you control

Record how you intend to travel, the amount of walking you want, the overnight arrangement you prefer and what you expect to carry. These choices describe your intention. They are not evidence that a particular provider or destination meets it.

A useful original example: “I prefer rooms, want to be a passenger and will carry day gear” leads to questions about a driver service, room comfort and main-bag storage. It does not produce a confirmed driver, available hotel or measured hike.

Add the day passport

Use this structure beside the worksheet for each day. The Kyrgyzstan itinerary demonstrates it in full.

FieldWhat belongs in the plan
Start and endExact places and handover points
TravelStart/end, train, bus, driving, transfers and stops; source and date for any measured moving time
WalkFull distance, moving duration and cumulative ascent
OvernightLocation and actual required comfort
LuggageWho holds the main bag during the walk
DependenciesAccess, transport, reservations and current checks
AlternativeA complete different day and what it skips
EvidenceSource, review date and next check

If a measurement is unverified, write “Not confirmed” and the question needed to resolve it. Do not enter zero to make a table look finished. Do not add a full day total while any contributing duration remains unknown.

Separate preference from confirmation

A preference such as “private room” remains a request until the actual accommodation agrees to it. “Flexible pace” remains unresolved until the walking and return arrangements support that flexibility.

Keep a date with each answer. A published source can establish background information while current access remains unknown. Once a recheck deadline passes, the plan requires a new check; saving it does not renew that evidence.

Save the version you want to restore

Use “Save plan on this device” to keep the brief, selected Sintra option and switch reason in this browser at the current site address. Edits are unsaved until you press Save. Reopening restores the last successfully saved version, not later edits.

Resetting or clearing the working fields does not replace the stored plan until you save the change. Check the status message and reload after a successful save to verify the version you want. There is no account, cloud sync, transfer to another device or recovery guarantee after clearing browser data.

If saving fails, the edits remain on the current page and you can download or print them. Do not treat a failed save as a durable copy. Avoid passport details, medical records, payment information or other sensitive content in this local planning note.

Keep a main day and a different alternative

The two Sintra day options compare a Pena interior visit with a National Palace of Sintra and historic-center day. Select a branch and write why you would switch. The different entrance chains and omitted visits matter; no distance or full-day duration is invented where it remains unknown.

Saving a branch does not reserve entry or confirm that it is available when the other fails. Check each option's own admission, access and return, plus any booking-change terms. If both depend on a disrupted Sintra connection, a separately checked local Lisbon day may be more useful. Use the backup-day method when planning another place.

Make the export useful on its own

Download and print use the current working brief, including unsaved edits; the saved road-trip comparison is included separately where available. Print requests the browser's print dialog. Export creates a downloadable document; complete the browser's save/print process to keep the copy. Opening a dialog alone proves neither a saved file nor a physical print. The output includes the source URL, content version, review information, units, selections and the relevant unknown or stale limitations.

Read the result independently of this page. It should tell you both what you chose and what remains to be checked. A tidy export with missing dependencies is still an incomplete travel plan.

Pair it with the editable packing checklist. Route arrangements and carried equipment belong together, but checking one does not confirm the other.

A plan to return to

Your trip worksheet

Keep one day, its travel and an alternative together — for a city, rail journey, coast or walk.

No account or cloud sync. Save explicitly to keep this plan on this browser and address; unsaved edits last only while this page stays open. Clearing browser data removes local saves. Downloaded files include your notes, so avoid sensitive details and share carefully.

Compare the Sintra example and Plan B

Two Sintra days from the same Lisbon room

One Lisbon room, two different outings. Choose an option to keep it with your notes. This does not book it or confirm access.

Day to keep in my plan

Make the booked Pena interior visit the main event.

Travel
Lisbon–Sintra rail; separately confirm the station-to-park public transport or pedestrian approach and return.
Walking and access
Selected park entrance to the palace admission point, visit and agreed return; exact route and access needs unresolved. Check the actual walking surface, gradients, resting options and access assistance with the site.
What this omits
No second palace booking or presumed town visit added to the entrance chain.

Before choosing

  • Correct dated/timed palace ticket and included experience
  • Park gate is not the palace admission point
  • Confirm permitted local approach; private vehicles cannot access the monument
  • Check site notices, return service and actual accessibility needs

Travel, walking and ascent: not confirmed. Total duration not confirmed.

Choose a town-centered palace visit instead of the Pena hill/interior plan.

Travel
Lisbon–Sintra rail; separately choose and verify the station-to-historic-center approach and return.
Walking and access
National Palace of Sintra at Largo Rainha D. Amélia plus a specifically chosen town circuit; distance, duration and ascent unconfirmed. Town-centered does not mean step-free or universally easier; check the palace circuit and street surfaces for your group.
What this omits
Pena interior, Pena park approach and any unconfirmed hill transfer.

Before choosing

  • Confirm this palace's ticket, visit type and current admission
  • Verify station-to-palace access and chosen town circuit
  • Read notices and accessibility information
  • Confirm return to Lisbon; B is not guaranteed available when A fails

Travel, walking and ascent: not confirmed. Total duration not confirmed.

Use the town alternative only after checking its own admission, access and return. A disrupted Pena approach does not prove the alternative is open. A change does not establish a refund or ticket transfer.

Same Lisbon accommodation and host-agreed luggage arrangement for both options. No additional Sintra overnight assumed. Neither option guarantees easier or step-free access.

Blank fields remain unknown. Total duration not confirmed: record travel moving time, walking time and stops separately. Your notes and selected example are not automatically verified.

The standalone HTML includes the current plan, selected example and its alternative, source links and dates, units, permanent worksheet URL and open questions. Print requests a browser dialog; you can save a PDF there.

Move saved plans to another address or device

On the original address, save your edits and download a JSON backup here. Open this worksheet on the other address or device, select that file and confirm the import. A domain change does not move browser saves automatically.

The file contains your saved worksheet, comparison and checklist, including notes and custom items. It is not encrypted. Keep it private. This transfer is processed on your device; the file and its contents are not uploaded. Your analytics choice is excluded.

Save your latest edits before downloading a backup.

Optional: saved road-trip comparison

No readable saved preferences. Use the worksheet independently, or compare and save a road-trip format. No preferences are inferred.

The comparison uses a mountain road-trip example. It is not a city, coast or rail recommendation and is saved separately from this plan.
