Djurgården: A Short Walk Beside Isbladskärret
Choose the 390 m Lovers’ Path along the wetland for a focused nature stop, with the bus approach and return kept separate from the walking distance.

For a short nature stop on Djurgården, choose the Lovers' Path along the southwestern edge of Isbladskärret. The signed path is 390 m long and passes varied woodland and wetland scenery. That is the path length, not the whole outing from central Stockholm or a complete circuit around Djurgården.
The wetland became a bird-rich lake after the Royal Djurgården Administration stopped pumping it in the 1980s. Giant oaks, broadleaved woodland and conifers give the walk a different character from the museum streets at the western end of the island. Birds vary with season and chance; the place is worth visiting without a particular sighting.
Approach from the named bus stops
Royal Djurgården's path description identifies bus 69 from Centralen and the Isbladskärret or Edelstams väg stops. Check the current SL journey to the stop you choose, its pedestrian approach and the return service before boarding. The 390 m figure does not include those approaches.
At the wetland, follow signs for the Lovers' Path along its southwestern side. Read the wildlife panels and keep to the path. For a simple same-stop outing, retrace it and the approach to the bus stop you used. This avoids depending on an unplanned crossing to another part of Djurgården.
Keep the visit focused on the wetland
The short path was inaugurated in 2012 as a wedding gift from WWF to Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. It gives a clear small destination within the larger Royal National City Park, rather than asking you to cover the whole island. Choose it when a brief outdoor stop fits better than a long shoreline walk.
Read SL's traffic changes and the trip planner for your date. Check the bus journey and any onward connection you actually intend to use.
If you need local help with the walk or an onward visit, Royal Djurgården Visitor Center is beside Djurgårdsbron at Djurgårdsvägen 2. Count the trip between your city stop and the walking path before adding another Djurgården visit.
