Checking the route

Bukhansan’s Pine Forest Trail is a foothill outing, not a route to the mountain’s granite summits. Choose Section One when you want a lower path through pine trees between the Uiryeong Trail entrance and the upper edge of Solbat Neighborhood Park. Those endpoints define the walk; continuing into another numbered section makes a different day.

One section, two return choices

Korea Tourism Organization gives this section as 2.9 km (1.8 mi) one way, describing a broad, gently graded route with substantial tree shade. It follows the mountain’s lower edge, using existing side paths rather than climbing to a summit.

For a straightforward return, start at the Uiryeong entrance, follow Section One to the upper edge of Solbat Park and retrace it. That is 5.8 km (3.6 mi) before any approach from transport. For a shorter visit, turn back sooner on the same signed section. Neither option requires crossing Uiryeong itself.

If you prefer the one-way walk, arrange departure from Solbat Park before starting. Do not use the full section’s one-way figure for an outing that must still return to the original entrance. The route-shapes guide makes that distinction clear.

Name the actual meeting point

The official listing places the Uiryeong-side start at 12 Samyang-ro 173-gil, Gangbuk-gu, and lists no parking. Plan an appropriate public-transport approach or confirmed road drop-off, then retain the same start for your return unless you arrange the Solbat departure. Add the street approach to the walking day rather than assuming a station exit is the trailhead.

Before traveling, ask the listed trail information contact, +82 2 900 8086, about Section One’s current surface and any access restriction. The general listing says year-round access; local weather or maintenance can still change the visit. Follow the Pine Forest/Section One signs, particularly at junctions with other Dulle-gil sections and Uiryeong routes.
