Time for a photograph

Seisenbergklamm puts the walking route inside a narrow rock channel carved by the Weißbach. Wooden walkways and steps bring you close to the water; the return can take you out through forest instead of repeating every section of gorge. It is a compact outing from Weißbach bei Lofer, provided you leave time for both parts.

The gorge is about 600 m long. That is the length of the natural feature, not the length of your complete day from the car. Information points and the “Klammgeist” theme give children something to follow, but the route still asks them to negotiate steps and wet walkways.

Follow the gorge, then close the circuit

Arrive at the signed Seisenbergklamm parking in Weißbach and walk to the entrance by the Klammstüberl. Enter through the ticket point and follow the built walkways through the gorge. The official description gives a return option: after the gorge, turn right onto the forest path and return by Hirschbichler Landesstraße to the parking. Follow the current signs where the footpath joins the road, and take care around traffic.

This is the bounded visit to use if you want to finish where you started. Do not continue upstream toward Hintertal or Hirschbichl simply because the gorge path has ended. Those are longer destinations, not the closing leg of this circuit.

The operator describes a gorge visit as roughly an hour but also shows 1 hour 30 minutes in its facts panel. Rather than treating either as a deadline, allow at least the longer estimate for an unhurried gorge visit and more for your parking approach and return. Stop time, children and wet steps can add to it.

Autumn admission is seasonal

The 2026 hours page lists September 14–October 31 from 9 am to 5 pm. It does not give a distinct late-entry allowance. Arrive early enough to complete the outing before closing rather than treating 5 pm as a recommended starting time.

Admission is charged; a combined ticket for three attractions is a separate product from the single gorge entry. Check the operator’s current information before traveling, particularly after heavy rain or near the end of October. An annual opening table does not override a closure sign.

Keep Hirschbichl for another plan

The separately described Erlebnisweg begins at Gasthaus Hirschbichl and is 3.5 km one way downhill, with a hiking-bus approach from Weißbach. Those numbers do not describe a short loop around Seisenbergklamm. Leave that extension for a day when you have confirmed its transport and full route. The route-shape guide can help you spot this difference before two individually short walks become an awkward through-trip.
